April 2025 Parcel Data Update

Written by The Regrid Data Team | Apr 7, 2025 12:47:18 PM

A detail of updates in March and a preview of the upcoming counties in our pipeline is below.

Average Parcel Age: 152 Days (down by 7 days)

Number of Parcels Refreshed: 33,554,559

Number of Counties Refreshed: 488

Number of New Parcels: 193k

Matched Building Footprints Update - We have begun to deliver updates to the Matched Building Footprints data and you may already have seen these. This update adds over 9.9 million new building footprints, taking our total building count to 197.3 million total building footprints. This update not only adds new buildings but in utilizing enhanced imagery building capture has continued to improve, and provides increased precision in the accuracy of the building shape. This enhanced imagery combined with new logic also resulted in increased capture of smaller structures and decreased false positives and ‘sliver’ capture. This update increased imagery currency significantly with almost half of the buildings now coming from the most current imagery available. Let us know if you have any questions about the Matched Building Footprints.

Update to mailing address handling - In late May of this year we will begin standardizing the addresses within the mailadd field to USPS standards. If you need the unedited mailing address as it was delivered from the source, that is now available in the original_mailing_address field.

We added the  original_mailing_address field in the late January schema change to prepare for this improvement. The original_mailing_address continues to contain the same data as the mailadd field.

Please let us know if you have any questions, and we will provide a more concrete timeline for the transition next month.

Changes to GeoDB format exports - You should have received a separate communication related to our adjustment to GeoDB structure that will be occurring in May.  As a reminder currently, our GeoDB (a.k.a. FileGDB) zip files require users to extract to a folder using the zip file name. In May, we will switch to compressing a folder with the state and county name format by default. This better aligns with ESRI guidelines for these files. In March, we will add a temporary SFTP folder, “geodb_new_structure”, with samples of the new exports for your testing. If you receive a cloud or other deliveries, we are happy to provide samples on requests.

Reminder- New Tileserver functionality coming this month -
By default, our tileserver shows all parcels, including stacked parcels. Later this month, we will be adding a feature that will let you display a flat tile layer, flattening stacks into a single geometry. The default behavior remains unchanged. This change is currently scheduled to go live on April 15th.

We also love to hear from you about which counties or regions you’d like to see us update next, as it helps inform our planning process.
