January 2025 Parcel Data Update

Written by The Regrid Data Team | Jan 6, 2025 2:05:16 PM

A detail of updates in December of 2024 and a preview of the upcoming counties in our pipeline is below.

2024 Update Summary We're happy to announce that during 2024 we updated data in 3,006 counties across the United States, adding over 1.5 Million new parcels across the county. Additionally, we delivered full refreshes for 681 of these counties twice, and 222 of them were updated four times during 2024. We’re committed to continually doing all we can to put fresh data in front of you. As always, we only consider it an update if we are providing you new and truly updated data.

2024 Update Summary Stats

Total Counties Updated: 3,006

Counties Updated 2 times: 681

Counties Updated 4 times: 222

Total New Parcels added: 1.5M

Parcel Schema Changes and Data Enrichments coming later this month - Our January schema change, currently scheduled to start rolling out on January 27th, adds 18 new enriched fields to the Regrid schema.

Our Customer Success team has been reaching out about these changes over the last month.  If you haven’t heard from them, please drop us a note to tech@regrid.com and we’ll make sure to get you all the information you need. The new schema is fully locked and has been shared, and we will have sample data files ready for testing in the next few weeks.

Updates to our Verse table coming in later this month

As a reminder, in conjunction with our January schema change we will be making some updates to our verse table. With our expansion into Canadian parcels, we will be internationalizing our verse table to be less USA-specific. What this means is that we’ll be a) adding three new columns, and b) renaming five columns.

The three new columns will be as follows:

Columns Added:

  • Admin0: Two-letter country abbreviation
  • Admin2_type: The type of administrative boundary for admin 2.
  • sq_km:The area of the place, in square kilometers

The columns that we’ll be changing are as follows:

  • state => admin1
  • county => admin2
  • seat => admin2_center
  • city => admin3
  • msa => metropolitan_area

These changes won’t have any effect on your continued use of the data files themselves. However, depending on your use of the verse table, there may be some small changes needed to your ETL processes. We will have a version of the new verse table available to test as early as the middle of November.
