Update to mailing address handling - We had targeted May as the go-live target for our standardization of the mailadd field (mailing addresses) to USPS standards. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this change will not occur in May and will push to at least June. We’ll update you in the June email on this timeline.
As a reminder, the change will standardize the mailadd field to USPS Standards. If you need the unedited mailing address as it was delivered from the source, that is now available in the original_mailing_address field.
We added the original_mailing_address field in the late January schema change to prepare for this improvement. The original_mailing_address continues to contain the same data as the mailadd field.
Changes to GeoDB format exports - As a reminder, currently, our GeoDB (a.k.a. FileGDB) zip files require users to extract to a folder using the zip file name. Later this month, we will switch to compressing a folder with the state and county name format by default. This better aligns with ESRI guidelines for these files. In March, we added a temporary SFTP folder, “geodb_new_structure”, with samples of the new exports for your testing. If you receive a cloud or other deliveries, we are happy to provide samples on requests.
Updated Best Practices for Feature Service Users - You may have already noticed, but in late April we updated our Best Practices for using our Feature Service. This update offers clearer guidance not only on general usage but also on specifics related to setting up the Regrid Feature Service. Our goal is to make sure everyone has easy access to the support and information they need. New Roadway Right-of-Way Product Introduced (Available in bulk files only) - On April 29th, we announced a brand new product: the Regrid Roadway ROW Polygon Data product! This first-of-its-kind product captures the area of roadway right-of-ways across all 50 United States, and provides an amazing planning-grade dataset to speed analysis and projects across numerous industries..
