Challenge

AMP needed a precise way to target parcels along DOT project corridors, since USPS carrier routes and county tools were often too imprecise or inconsistent.

Results

With Regrid, AMP can map the notice area, filter the list, and export property and mailing addresses for compliant outreach.

"I had been searching for a long time for a way to target land parcels with a mapping tool. And so that is why I use Regrid so much.”

AMP About

ABOUT

Max works at Advocacy Marketing Partners (AMP), a public affairs-focused communications business. Through AMP, he supports engineering firms that must send public notices to residents as part of state and federal Department of Transportation requirements, and he uses Regrid to build the parcel-based mailing lists those projects demand.

THE CHALLENGE

Engineering firms working on transportation projects are often required to reach residents within a defined project corridor, such as a half-mile buffer on either side of a highway for a set distance. USPS carrier-route targeting can be useful, but it is not always precise enough for those notice boundaries. At the same time, parcel data access and tooling is inconsistent across jurisdictions, and many counties no longer support easy map-based selection and export.

THE SOLUTION

Max uses the Regrid web app to isolate the exact notice area specified by the project, then applies filters to keep costs down and avoid paying for records that will be removed later during data cleansing. The vacancy indicator is the primary filter he relies on, and he exports the final selection as a CSV.

For outreach, the most important attributes are the parcel’s property address and the secondary mailing address, which helps reach owners who do not receive mail at the property itself.

"What I’m most interested in is the property address of the parcel, and then the secondary address … the mailing address helps us reach them."

THE RESULTS

Regrid gives Max a reliable way to generate precise parcel-based mailing lists even when local government tools are inconsistent or unpredictable. It also lets him deliver more refined targeting than carrier routes alone, which can reduce waste and help clients keep overall project costs down.
