Challenge

Bloom Spatial needed reliable parcel boundaries & ownership details, delivered through a single API, so co-ops could connect vegetation risk along power lines to the right landowners across many counties.

Results

With Regrid as the parcel foundation, Bloom can onboard co-ops across states using the same integration and embed ownership context directly into planning and field workflows

Key Product

Regrid Parcel API

"Having the coverage and the ability to have a single API that we can use regardless of whether the co-op is in Indiana or in Colorado, and then the ease of use of the API were the big deciding factors."

ABOUT

Bloom Spatial is a vegetation management platform built for electric cooperatives, combining imagery, AI, and field-ready workflows to help co-ops prioritise tree work, manage vegetation budgets, and communicate with members. Their customers are mostly rural co-ops managing long distribution lines running through forests, farms, and fields, where vegetation risk can threaten reliability.

THE CHALLENGE

Vegetation management for electric co-ops is not just about identifying where trees threaten the line. It is also about working with the people who own the land underneath those spans, including making sure the right members are notified before crews arrive. Bloom needed a consistent way to connect vegetation risk to parcel boundaries and ownership across many counties, without stitching together fragmented local sources.

THE SOLUTION

Bloom chose Regrid as a parcel data partner so they could plug a single API into the product and get complete coverage wherever a co-op operates. The Bloom team focused on imagery, data science, and field workflows, while Regrid provided the parcel and ownership foundation underneath.

Inside Bloom, parcel data is embedded in the steps co-ops take to plan and execute work. When Bloom’s risk model flags a stretch of line, the platform can show which parcels the span crosses and who owns that land, helping planners confirm the right members are notified and helping crews understand who they are speaking to in the field.

"We incorporated Regrid parcel data with ownership details for each plot of land. That way a co-op can look at a span, see who owns the property, and know exactly who they need to notify before any tree work happens."

THE RESULTS

Regrid enables Bloom to add parcel and ownership context into planning and field workflows without building or maintaining a parcel database, and to onboard co-ops across multiple counties and states using the same parcel integration and API. That stable parcel base helps Bloom keep a lean team focused on imagery, risk modelling, and user experience, and it strengthens demos by clearly tying vegetation risk to real members and properties along the line.

"Parcel data is a very nice feature that shows our understanding of our customer. It is important because it speaks to the way cooperatives relate to their members."
