Introducing Regrid.com

Today we’re announcing that Loveland Technologies and Landgrid are now Regrid

Same team, same ownership, same services (with some new additions), and all links forward to the right place on the new site, but now there’s one name for one great nationwide land information service and the company behind it.

So, why Regrid? We created a page on the site to answer that exact question (Why Regrid?), but I’ll give a little detail here.

Not to be too literal, but the name represents the following:

Re: once more; afresh; anew

Grid: a network of lines on a map that enable the precise location of a place

Regridding: the joining together of different grids or spatial datasets

How’s that for saying a lot in six easy letters and a .com?

As Loveland Technologies has grown and changed over the years we would often get asked, “Are you Loveland or Landgrid or Lovegrid or what should we call you?”

As our focus on being the leading provider of land parcel data sharpened, the ambiguity became less comfortable and more like having double-vision. In short, as we continue to grow we need to approach the world and the market in a way that’s clear, distinctive, and ours.

Loveland Technologies still exists (and can never go away, much as Wu-Tang is forever), but as of today we are Regrid as both a company and a service, so you can just call us Regrid.

Nothing about your use of the Landgrid site, app, or data services will change or be affected. All historical Landgrid links, including API endpoints, direct to the proper place on the new site, and nothing is lost. It’s an upgrade with a different name.

So beyond that, what’s new?

Well, as you can see from some of the high level stats we share on the Regrid homepage, we’ve been busy growing the dataset, growing the coverage, and growing our customer base.

One notable new offering that we are currently working on in private beta is the ability to provide nationwide building footprints matched to our parcels, thanks to a partnership with EarthDefine who use aerial imagery and Artificial Intelligence to derive accurate building boundaries nationwide. Contact us if you’re interested in buildings now, and stay tuned for a formal launch announcement later in Q3.

You’ll see more of these partnerships and data integrations rolling out soon, as well as other product upgrades. The team has been busy, and it shows.

I can’t say enough how much we appreciate the friends, family, fans, partners, customers, and colleagues (past and present), who we’ve had the pleasure to be around, be uplifted by, serve, and work with over the years. It’s been a journey, and the team is excited to kick off this next period of growth and development as Regrid.

Thank you, enjoy Regrid, and let us know what you think of the new site!
