Jerry Paffendorf

CEO & Co-Founder

Jerry is an American mutt from the forested farmlands of New Jersey who's lived around the country in Portland, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Detroit. Jerry dropped out of high school, got turned on by Ray Kurzweil's "The Age of Spiritual Machines" while in art school, and earned a Master of Science in Studies of the Future from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Working at the Acceleration Studies Foundation for two years, Jerry gained a deep view on how each generation of technology builds the next with increasing speed. Jerry gravitated towards the virtual worlds industry where he pioneered many projects and experiments within the Second Life user-created 3D world, and researched convergences between maps, virtual reality, and social networks. Jerry earned a purple heart in Silicon Valley after co-founding a venture capital-funded company you've never heard of, an experience which made him even more passionate about putting the world online outside of what's currently trendy in the Bay Area. Detroit has become an endless education and influence for thinking about how information systems can help improve the function of cities, the agency of residents, and the use of physical space. He likes reading books and watching documentaries about all kinds of things, road tripping, running around in circles, and growing Regrid into something more and more meaningful all the time.

Mary Carter

COO & Co-Founder

Mary grew up in southeast Michigan, co-founded Regrid and has been running operations while wearing 1,000 hats since 2009. Her experience in library science and fine art are both vital to the functioning of this company, as its roots include balancing a mixture of unrestrained creativity while keeping many small things organized. As Regrid grows, Mary plays good cop in making sure everyone on the team is happy and has what they need, and bad cop in making sure that growth happens responsibly and no one gets carried away. Mary is very active in her neighborhood as the President of the Detroit Dog park in Corktown, a member of the Corktown Business Association, and a board member of the Imagination Station of Roosevelt Park.

Larry Sheradon

CTO & Co-Founder

Larry has been building the technology for the Regrid platform since 2009, when he connected with Jerry and Mary and started putting land online with Loveland’s micro real estate project. Before that, he worked in geospatial programming, web design and network architecture, data visualization, and 3D graphics. He lives in California and enjoys making lanterns, tinkering with electronics, DJing and various programmatic & audiovisual art forms.

Matt Hampel

Chief Data Officer

Matt Hampel has worked with nonprofits, newspapers, universities, and other organizations to build tools for the public good. He is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At Regrid, Matt leads our data team. Before joining Regrid, Matt co-founded the startup LocalData, was a Code for America fellow in Detroit, and worked as a technology project manager at the University of Michigan.

Sahana Murthy

Chief Product Officer

Sahana is a product strategist, manager & marketer with extensive experience working with software companies & startups of all sizes across USA & India. She has worked in various industries & technologies ranging from SaaS/PaaS platforms to mobile apps to AI based products. At Regrid, Sahana manages our product, marketing, growth strategy and the team. Based out of Lake Orion, MI, Sahana is a mom who loves to cook, travel, read & binge watch!

Steve Stautzenbach

Chief Revenue Officer

Serving as Chief Revenue Officer for Regrid, Steve is responsible for driving our growth strategies and client relationships, building a top- performing revenue generation team. Steve brings deep location data and analytics, spatial technologies, and subscription business model experience to the role, having performed executive leadership roles across sales, business development, product management, and marketing for software companies throughout his career. Serving most recently as General Manager of the Location-Based Analytics segment of LightBoxRE (formed with the acquisition of Digital Map Products), Steve's leadership teams have consistently achieved major corporate objectives including IPO, acquisitions, investments from major VCs and PE firms, and profitable growth.San Diego-based, Steve's outside interests include architecture, historic restoration, basketball, community service, and a good book.

Steve Kendall

VP of Partnerships

Based in Southern California, Steve comes to Regrid with an extensive background and experience as a sales professional holding positions ranging from individual contributor to senior vice president for companies including Experian, Corelogic, and First American. Data and Analytics is in his DNA as he’s passionate about the data acquisition, aggregation, product development, sales and customer services and how all of these various functions are so intertwined. Steve is responsible for establishing Regrid’s strategic 3rd party Marketplaces and Reseller Partnerships.

Alex Alsup

VP of Research & Development

Alex joined the Regrid team as its first employee in 2012 and worked with the team to develop its product suite and execute some of its first major projects, such as Detroit's first citywide property condition survey, Motor City Mapping. Inspired to see how Regrid's data & software could be used to reform housing & land use policies, investments, and programs he joined the philanthropic arm of Rocket Mortgage, the Rocket Community Fund, in 2016 and spent several years leading their philanthropic housing investments. He's been back with the Regrid team since 2022 as Vice President of Research & Development, leading Regrid's Data With Purpose program and developing new applications for Regrid's suite of data, tools, and expertise. Alex is based in Detroit, MI. His Wu-Tang name is Ol' Mucky Terrahawk. He enjoys taking pictures of pictures of Detroit houses over time via Google Street View for his oft-referenced work, GooBing Detroit.

Matthew Klovski

Geographic Data Manager

Matthew works to manage all parcel data gathering and updating here at Regrid, as well as handling the cartographic side of things. He firmly believes that a better understanding of land ownership, both within the US and abroad, can only come from open access to cadastral data. A Metro Detroit native currently based in Philadelphia, he has a MSc in Spatial Data Science and Visualisation from University College London, as well as a B.A in Geography and a B.S in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University.

Nick Downer

VP of Software

A long-time resident of Cleveland, Nick started working for Regrid mid-2017 with a background in data analysis and research forged in the crucible of the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. He also spent time working in the fields of community organizing and housing, where he learned the value of property information as a tool in the effort to stabilize neighborhoods. Nick's current role is to make life good for the growing number of self-serve users who use Regrid’s products, especially the mapping platform.

Shari Jones

Business Operations Manager

Based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Shari comes to Regrid with a background in business and marketing operations building programs and processes and systems to keep the "behind the scenes" running smoothly. After working across different industries, she made her way to the tech space attracted by the creativity, innovation and opportunity to do impactful work. Her specialty is finding the perfect harmony between people and process. When she's not doing all things operational, she's spending time with her family, doing DIY projects around the home or lost in a book (of any genre).

Rachele Wright

Senior Demand Generation Manager

Rachele Wright is a digital marketing and communications specialist with over a decade of experience working in a variety of industries for small businesses, corporations, and non-profits across the US. In her current role at Regrid, Rachele is putting her marketing knowledge and expertise towards bringing in more highly-qualified leads to grow our incredible customer base. Rachele is based out of St. Clair Shores, MI and loves to spend her free time playing piano, spending time with friends, and floating on her paddle board.

Matt Karli

Data Product Manager

With a BS in Geography and over 25 years of experience in property location intelligence industries, Matt brings extensive knowledge and experience to his role as the Regrid Data Product Manager. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions, holding multiple patents with the USPTO, and establishing himself as a thought leader in the field of Geospatial Product Management. Matt has documented endless customer use cases, and established business plans that address market needs and help customers unlock value. Beyond his professional endeavors, Matt is an avid Home Brewer, consistently honing his craft to the delight of those lucky enough to be nearby. Additionally, he enjoys road cycling, even in the boiling Texas summers. While he rarely plays anymore, he also enjoys watching Association Football, commonly known as Soccer here in the United States. Above all, Matt cherishes spending quality time with his family. Matt is based in Austin, Texas.

Blake Girardot

Senior Data Engineer

Blake Girardot is an open source software and open data enthusiast. In his previous work with Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team he saw first hand how locally organized data collection enabled communities to understand and address local challenges. As a member of Regrid's Data Team, he brings that same passion for community empowerment to his work. He spends his free time outdoors with his wife and dog or at the local makerspace.

Jonathan Thomas

Sr. Account Executive

Jonathan is a self-motivated and progress driven Account Executive for our sales team. With over 20+ years of selling a mix of SaaS software and an extensive background working with data analytics companies like CoreLogic & LightBox. He has worked with a variety of different industries selling SaaS platforms, APIs and parcel data. At Regrid, Jonathan is responsible for the strategic growth for our existing and new clients. He is an astute problem-solver, capable of prioritizing and managing complex projects with proficiency. Daniel grew up in the South Florida area and is currently in Miami. An experienced Account Executive with a demonstrated history of working in the Software (SaaS) and supply chain industry. Roman Kahler

Solutions Engineer

Roman joined the Regrid team in 2020, coming from the renewable energy industry with a background in parcel data and GIS. Growing up in Michigan, he spent a large portion of his childhood reading atlases and tirelessly staring at maps, which led to an obsession with geography from a young age. After studying audio engineering and spanish in college, he found himself working at a recording studio in Nashville before pursuing photography full time, working briefly in Finland as a northern lights tour guide. In his free time he enjoys traveling, photography, restoring vintage axes, playing guitar and piano, winter camping, hockey, looking at maps, backpacking, and snowmobiling. He also helps out on the family farm making large batches of maple syrup every spring. He currently calls Traverse City Michigan home.

Raven Visser

Data Analyst

Raye is a digital jill-of-all-trades with a background in film, radio, journalism, graphic design, photo restoration, and tabletop and video games. At Regrid, she works with the parcel team to make improvements and incorporate outside datasets into the nationwide parcel data, while also helping users and potential clients get the most out of Regrid. Currently based in Missouri, she enjoys cooking, eating, playing games, skateboarding, and constantly bothering her two cats.

Liz Puhl

Spatial Data Scientist

Based in Minneapolis, Liz comes to Regrid with a background in geography, cartography, GIS, and web application development. As part of the Data Team, she helps make sure the data is as accurate, clean, and easy to work with as possible; she also has a hand in parcel-based cartography projects. In her spare time, she's a tennis player, armchair urban planner, and personal assistant to two high-maintenance cats.

Luke Stibbs

Sales Development Representative

Luke joined the Regrid team in 2021, moving from B2B Territory Management to the data world. He brings 12 years of sales experience and a good attitude to every day. When you reach out to our sales team, it'll be Luke that answers. Luke studied History and Economic Philosophy at the University of the Fraser Valley before immigrating to the United States in 2017, and now lives just north of Seattle with his wife and growing family.

Meg is an artist and creative based in Salem, MA. After graduating from NYU, Meg joined the Regrid team and quickly began building up the marketing department's capabilities. Vincent Charles

Full Stack Engineer

Vincent enjoys the balance of working in both the digital and physical spaces, as can be noted from building software based projects for countless hours to building carbon-neutral structures. With a BS in Computer Science and BA in Psychology he has a natural vantage point of keeping an intuitive user flow in mind in the software he builds. At Regrid he enjoys connecting the various components together to give a unified experience. He is currently helping to build out new features for our mapping platform so it can be as intuitive and expressive for front-end users and developers programmatically using our services in their projects. While taking a break you will often find Vincent being walked by his cat on her leash.

Seth Archambault

Mobile App Developer

While he swears Detroit has always been his home, Seth Archambault certainly took his damn time getting here. Seth (He/Him/They) moved from a small boring town in Connecticut to Philadelphia, and after school found himself thrust directly into the deeply disturbing environment of a corporate advertising firm. Not jelling with the misanthropic culture of the programming department he decided it was time to set his sights on something new (aka: got himself fired). He began to find meaning in writing code for the businesses of friends who held his values - in 2013, it was this same impulse which led him to Detroit. Here he worked on a wide variety of projects involving non-profits, augmented reality, political campaigns, Detroit housing, React Native, and C. At the same time, he immersed himself in ballroom, spoken word poetry, and rollerskating, which expanded his persepctive and taught him to bend his knees lest he topple like a flailing tree in a windstorm. Then, through his future wife, he learned about community organizing and began to see that not only was it the sole thing able to bring about real systemic change, but that technology only fulfills its most meaningful impact when employed to build tools which support these organizers. So in the evenings he does low-level programming to support anti-racist policy advancement while organizing with Detroit Jews for Justice, Michigan Liberation, and Detroit Eviction Defense. Aside from that, he enjoys biking, playing hide-and-seek-with-cat, and designing big stickers for his laptop that provoke heartfelt conversations about whiteness with strangers at cafes. ...It’s a thing.

Charlie Rogg

Data Analyst

Charlie is a Data Analyst with a different set of responsibilities from the other Regrid Data Analysts. While everyone else prepares the data, she searches for raw parcel data all over the country. She was using Regrid to research parcels for a project and at the same time found a new job! A bit of a roamer, she's lived on both Coasts while locating sites for franchisees, selling enterprise solution software and pinch hitting as a real estate paralegal. She worked briefly as a chef after attending the Culinary Institute of America. Then she changed course and finished an Accounting degree with minors in IE and Construction Management. After work you'll find her outside either riding her bike to go feed some cattle or being taken for a walk by her cat.

Bates Rambow

Full Stack Developer

Bates enjoys working at the intersection of maps, location intelligence, and software. He began his career in the public sector, working in areas such as land development, infrastructure, and water quality management. Managing GIS data and applications was a common thread in his work. After a decade in government, Bates founded a company that specialized in custom geospatial software development, which he ran for seven years. During that period, he worked with many clients who needed help obtaining, visualizing, and analyzing parcel data. When the opportunity to join Regrid arose in 2022, it felt like a perfect match. Originally from Atlanta, GA, and currently based in Bluffton, SC, Bates enjoys spending time with his family - either on a boat, at the beach, or camping.
